Method 1: via the APT repository

1. Follow the steps 1 to 4 on the APT tab found on our downloads page.

File manager integration

1. Run the command: sudo apt-get install insync-[file manager], depending on what you use (Caja, Dolphin/Konqueror, Nautilus, Nemo, or Thunar). 

For example, sudo apt-get install insync-nautilus

Method 2: direct download

1. Download the appropriate Insync installer for your distro.

2. In your terminal, change your directory to the location of the installer package. 

3. Run the command: dpkg -i [installer package]. For example, dpkg -i insync_1.5.1.37343-artful_amd64.deb

4. Run insync start  

* Alternative method: double-click the installer from our downloads page to run the installer

File manager integration

1. Download the appropriate file manager you’re using for your distro as seen below.

2. In your terminal, change your directory to the location of the file manager integration package 

3. Run the command: dpkg -i [file manager package]. For example, dpkg -i insync-nautilus_1.3.12.36116-precise_all.deb

*Alternative method: double-click the installer from our downloads page

REDHAT

Method 1: via the YUM repository

1. Follow the steps 1 to 3 on the YUM tab found on our downloads page.

File manager integration

1. Run the command sudo yum install insync-[file manager], depending on what you use (Caja, Dolphin/Konqueror, Nautilus, Nemo, or Thunar). 

For example, sudo yum install insync-nautilus

Method 2: direct download

1. Download the appropriate Insync installer for your distro.

2. In your terminal, change your directory to the location of the installer package 

3. Run the command: rpm -i [installer package]. For example, rpm -i insync-1.5.1.37343-fc25.x86_64.rpm

4. Run insync start  

Alternative method: double-click the installer from our downloads page 

File manager integration 

1. Download the appropriate file manager integration under the Packages tab.

2. In your terminal, change your directory to the location of the file manager integration package. 

3. Run command: rpm -i [file manager package]. For example, rpm -i insync-nautilus-1.3.12.36116-fc17.noarch

*Alternative method: double-click the installer from your downloads page
